BackKhaitan & Co advised Torrent Power on the acquisition of 100% share capital of NewZone Power Projects Pvt Ltd, 49% share capital of NewZone India Pvt Ltd and indirect acquisition of 51% of share capital of NewZone India Pvt Ltd. NewZone India Pvt Ltd is involved in the proposed development of a coal-based thermal power project located at Anuppur, Madhya Pradesh.
The Firm acted as the legal counsel of Torrent Power Ltd in providing end to end legal support on the transaction including on the legal due diligence aspects and the structuring, drafting, negotiating and finalizing of transaction documents.
