Sneh Shah

Sneh is a Partner in the Direct Tax Practice at Khaitan & Co, based in the firm’s Mumbai office. A dual-qualified Chartered Accountant and lawyer, she brings over a decade of diverse experience in advising clients on a wide range of domestic and international tax matters.

She regularly advises leading multinational corporations and investment funds on complex domestic and cross-border M&A transactions, including both sponsor-led deals and strategic investments/divestments. Her experience spans a variety of deal structures, such as share and business acquisitions, as well as global transactions involving an Indian leg.

Sneh also has deep expertise in tax advisory matters, including structuring of inbound and outbound investments, cross-border secondments, joint venture arrangements, franchising models, review of global ESOP policies, EPC contracts, and evaluating residency and taxable presence risks for foreign entities.

She frequently advises on the structuring of domestic and international investment vehicles, including Indian collective investment schemes, REITs, InvITs, and offshore debt instruments.

In addition, Sneh advises clients in the education sector on domestic structuring and supports foreign educational institutions with India entry strategies and their implementation.
