Anshuman’s practice covers the full spectrum of Indian competition/antitrust law including advising on complex merger control cases, abuse of dominance and cartel investigations, joint venture and distribution agreements and antitrust audits and compliance. Over the years, he has advised clients across various sectors such as technology, financial services, pharmaceutical, auto and auto components, heavy machinery, aviation, chemicals, and infrastructure sectors including ports, roads and power.

Some major transactions Anshuman has advised on in the recent past include American Axle and Manufacturing’s acquisition of Dowlais, Torrent group’s acquisition of Gujarat Titans, American Industrial Partners’ acquisition of interest in the clean air and powertrain business of Tenneco, Accenture’s strategic partnership with the Vodafone group, Ipca Labs’ acquisition of Unichem Labs, Bain’s acquisition of interest in RSB Transmission, Magna International's sale of its India business to SKH Group and Nirma’s acquisition of Glenmark Life Sciences. Previously, some other marquee transactions on which Anshuman has advised on include Sun Pharma’s acquisition of Ranbaxy, Hospira's acquisition of Orchid Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals, Siemens’ acquisition of C&S Electric, Adani Group’s acquisition of Krishnapatnam and Gangavaram Ports and the acquisition of the Mumbai International Airport, Government of India’s divestment of Air India, Blackstone’s acquisition of control in ASK Investment Managers, L&T Finance Holdings’ sale of L&T Mutual Fund to HSBC and Axis Bank’s acquisition of control over Max Life Insurance. Anshuman has also advised clients such as the Mahindra group, Edelweiss group, Advent International, True North and Oman Investment Corporation.

On the enforcement side, Anshuman has recently successfully defended Viterra India Private Limited against charges of cartelisation. He is currently advising clients in a number of pending investigations in sectors including technology, media and infrastructure.

Anshuman often writes on the subject and his articles have been published in various national and international journals and magazines. He is a member of the Advisory Board of the India chapter of GW Competition & Innovation Lab at the George Washington University. He is a member of the board of editors of The Quick Look, a publication of the Joint Conduct Committee of the American Bar Association and a member of the board of editors of the blog run by the Centre of Corporate Law, NLU Odisha.

Anshuman has been consistently ranked by Chambers & Partners Asia Pacific. He has been ranked as a Global Elite Thought Leader for Competition in the Under 45 – Partners category by Who's Who Legal. He has also been recognised by Asialaw as a Distinguished Practitioner.
