Multiplex Association of India | Special Leave Petition before the Karnataka High Court

  • 04-Nov-2025

Khaitan & Co represented the Multiplex Association of India before the Supreme Court, challenging the Karnataka High Court Division Bench’s interim order placing numerous onerous compliance obligations on multiplexes

The firm had previously successfully secured an interim stay on the Karnataka High Court’s move to impose a price cap of INR 200 on cinema tickets. The apex Court stayed the onerous conditions imposed by the Division Bench and directed the Single Judge to expeditiously decide the constitutional challenge to the amendment on its merits.
